Meet the Visionary
CEO
Mr. Randy Edmunds, better known as "Big Redd," is the visionary for Lil Dre Fun! Randy is an extraordinary music producer and educator. After teaching children in the educational system, he saw a need for more diversified learning. In class, Randy experienced many trials within the classroom with the youth not respecting their teacher or classmates and not adhering to the school rules. This troubled him so much that he decided to create a Social Behavior course focusing on improving students' behavior using energetic music videos, theatrical puppet skits, and upbeat hip-hop songs.
Randy is a father of three, and he understands the importance of providing the children, parents, and teachers a blended learning approach due to the turmoil of COVID-19. As a result, he created an eLearning & Virtual program that took his musical talent, combined it with his love for teaching, and created a wonderful learning experience for children. Randy uses the STEAM approach by focusing on the core competency of learning through creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.

I akin this product to the next level of social stories! The characters not only teach developmentally appropriate social skills, such as good communication with peers and adults; but also delves into topics that are current and relevant such as pandemic-related situations and virtual learning. The characters represent students from different backgrounds, intertwining well-designed two-way interaction and well-performed musical numbers. I have no doubt that with the right facilitation, kids will expand their skills from this product.

I have been an educator for over 20 years and I've seen curriculums come and go. I was introduced, a few months ago, to Lil Dre, a curriculum designed for school-aged children. I would like to give a big thumbs up to a fresh new way of reaching our children. The content is relevant for today mixed with catchy tunes that keep the student's attention long after they have heard it. For example, I sampled the COVID-19 video with our class. The kids were singing the little song about washing their hands and covering their faces hours later. As educators we do our best to give our students meaningful content; Lil Dre does just that while also being entertaining. The questions afterward lead to discussions that allow the students to think critically and problem solve. It is presented in a way that students will be able to relate to and really deal with some social issues at the same time. It is an excellent way to open up a dialogue with your class on some pertinent subjects. I highly recommend this program for elementary to middle school students.
